Patient Care Philosophy

I enjoy using the tools of interventional radiology to treat patients in the most minimally invasive way possible. I hope to make each patient encounter a positive experience and to treat each patient like a member of my family.

Dr. Soltes is an interventional radiologist and a UW assistant professor in the Department of Radiology. He performs the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures with particular interest in venous access, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts and uterine fibroid embolization.

Dr. Soltes earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Following diagnostic radiology residency at Baylor, he came to the University of Washington for interventional radiology fellowship.

Following fellowship, Dr. Soltes practiced interventional radiology in Houston for 17 years before returning to UW as a faculty member in 2012. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Interventional Radiology.
