Don't leave the country without us!
Plan ahead for a safe, healthy trip
Plan to seek medical advice four to six weeks in advance of departure for your international trip. This means you'll have time to schedule needed immunizations, gather prescriptions, and obtain preventive health information about your destinations.
Internationally recognized experts
Physicians and staff at the Travel Medicine Service are recognized by their peers as setting the pace for travel medicine for the rest of the country. Clinic staff are considered worldwide experts in pre- and post-travel medicine.
Pre-travel consultations
UW Medical Center's Travel Medicine Service provides pre-travel consultations for all international destinations. The consultation includes:
- Individualized health plan, based on a country-by-country analysis of your itinerary, anticipated activities, and review of previous immunizations.
- Advice on prescriptions and prophylaxis
- Information to help prevent and treat illness while traveling
- Individualized folder with materials and general health hints for travelers on topics such as diarrhea, rabies, and tropical diseases
- International Certificate of Vaccination as approved by the World Health Organization.
