Anxiety and depression
Faculty with expertise in mood and anxiety disorders offerdiagnostic evaluation and treatment recommendations. Targeted and individualizedpsychotherapeutic treatment, as well as adjunct pharmacotherapy in selected cases, may be used. Treatment approaches for individuals with mild to moderately severedepressive disorders include relatively short-term sessions (15 to 20) aimed primarily at teaching depression management skills. Antidepressant medication may be used, if indicated.
Behavioral medicine
This approach focuses on the interaction of biological, behavioral, and cognitive factors in determining disease and the individual's ability to cope with stress or illness. Consultation, evaluation, and behaviorally oriented treatment programs are available.
Group therapy
We offer a confidential setting in which patients learn how to deal with interpersonal relationships and how to seek clarification of their personal goals. Group topics range from women's intimacy issues and midlife transitions to cognitive therapy for panic and anxiety or for depression. Please call 206-598-7793 for a current list of group topics.
Human sexuality
Comprehensive evaluation and treatment are available for individuals and couples experiencing problems with sexual desire, arousal, orgasm (including premature or retarded ejaculation), male infertility, genital pain, compulsive sexual problems, and gender identification issues. Some services are offered in collaboration with specialists from the UW Department of Urology.
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Psycho-therapeutic treatment programs are available for victims of sexual abuse, molestation, and other traumas.
