About this Clinic
We consult, evaluate, and when appropriate, provide treatment for a variety of chronic pain problems and syndromes. Treatment goals focus on the reduction of disability and pain so that individuals can return to an optimal level of function in both their work and personal lives. Patients will then be returned to their referring health-care provider/primary care provider for continuing care.
The Multidisciplinary Pain Center has physicians and clinical psychologists from six departments of the UW School of Medicine, providing the ability to treat chronic pain conditions by specialists in anesthesiology, rehabilitation medicine, psychiatry and behavioral sciences, occupational medicine, family medicine, and rehabilitation counseling, as well as ancilliary providers from the fields of rehabilitation counseling, nursing, and physical and occupational therapy (see the Exercise Training Center).
The Multidisciplinary Pain Center is dedicated to the principle that all patients, staff, visitors, students, and volunteers deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and courtesy. It is the responsibility of everyone associated with UW Medical Center and the Multidisciplinary Pain Center to act in a manner that is consistent with the Organizational Ethics Statements and its support policies, which include personnel behavior, professional ethics, business and marketing practices, allegations of violations, and resolution of conflicts.
