Located at UW Medical Center at Roosevelt, this clinic provides prompt evaluation of abnormal mammograms, breast lumps, nipple discharge, or breast pain.
The clinic is staffed by breast disease specialists who provide a diagnosis and treatment plan. Our providers incorporate the results of several studies:
- Physical examination
- Mammography
- Breast ultrasound, and if necessary,
- Fine-needle aspiration and
- Ultrasound-guided core biopsies.
This close integration between clinical evaluation with breast imaging studies ensures that patients receive a thorough evaluation and accurate diagnosis.
For women with an increased risk for breast cancer, the Breast Health Center staff provides an individualized screening and follow-up plan to optimize early detection of breast cancer.
When you visit the Breast Health Center, you can expect:
- To discuss pertinent breast imaging tests such as mammography, ultra-sound, and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) with your provider.
- A clinical breast exam by an experienced clinician.
- When indicated, minor procedures such as needle sampling or biopsy.
- Pre- and post-operative care for patients requiring surgical intervention.
