About Breast Care and Breast Cancer Treatment

There's no single textbook approach for assessing the risk of cancer, evaluating symptoms of concern, or for treating breast cancer. Every patient is different, every family's history is different, and every cancer is different.

That is why we have established a Breast Care and Cancer Research Program that takes a multidisciplinary approach to address the specific needs of women and their breast health needs.

Our program is comprised of nationally renowned breast specialists who integrate scientific advances in cancer biology into clinical care, prevention, detection, treatment, and research of breast cancer. These specialists include surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and internists. The center is trusted as the Northwest’s premier breast cancer care program, providing the region’s widest and most sophisticated spectrum of integrated specialty care services. The center is located at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance outpatient clinic on Lake Union.

Our physicians and staff provide individualized care to each patient. When it comes time to select a treatment plan, each patient has a personal team of physicians and medical professionals who confer in one meeting with the patient to discuss diagnosis, treatment options, and to answer questions to develop the best individualized treatment plan available.

The Breast Care and Cancer Research Program has three components:

In addition, women can receive routine screening mammograms at UW Medical Center at Roosevelt's Women's Health Care Center.
