New Sports Medicine Center to open September 9, 2013
We’ve got big news. On September 9, 2013, the new UW Medicine Sports Medicine Center at Husky Stadium will be open. This state-of-the-art facility under the south stands of the stadium will be the home for our multidisciplinary program dedicated to helping athletes of all levels recover from their injuries and return to the activities they love.
At the new Sports Medicine Center, it will be easier than ever to get access to all aspects of sports medicine. With all our providers under one roof, you may just bump into your physical therapist when you’re here to see your doctor. Or pass your surgeon in the hall on the way to your rehab appointment. Better communication means better care — and better care means more effective healing, faster rehabilitation and maximized performance.
In addition to all our current treatment and care services, the Sports Medicine Center will house some expanded offerings:
Exercise Performance Center – This center for high-end training, coaching on sports performance, sports psychology for performance enhancement and optimal nutrition will help individuals and teams perform to the peak of their abilities.
Biomechanics Lab – Often, an injury is caused by a biomechanical problem. With access to the latest research and on-location gait analysis, your physician can help you get up and running — and avoid future injuries.
Our new Sports Medicine Center will allow us to expand access to the same quality care we’ve been providing for years across the whole system.
