Volunteer Voice, October / November 2013
In the October/November issue of Volunteer Voice, we introduce you to the Directors of the Service League Board, a group of diverse and dedicated volunteers who bring a wealth of experience to their important work at the medical center. We also share the success stories of two former UWMC volunteers. Kristen Killian is now a Registered Nurse in the ICU, and Matt Schultz is a Medical Assistant in the Emergency Department who just started medical school at UW. We hope that their stories will inspire you!
Volunteer Voice, August 2013
In the August issue of Volunteer Voice, we celebrate the 2013 Summer Teen Program! Our teen volunteers have been working hard this summer, delivering service excellence to patients and visitors at UWMC. We also talk to Art Therapist Zandi Salstrom, who explains how the creative process helps our patients and families work through emotional and mental challenges. You will also find stories about recent events--coffee taste testing, a Pen Pal party, and a recent medical center exhibition by UW art students. Plus, new volunteer opportunities, UWMC Art Collection updates, important staff changes, and more!
Volunteer Voice, June 2013
In this issue, you'll read about how our four-legged friends help patients at UWMC through the Animal Assisted Therapy Program. You'll also hear firsthand from our volunteers, learn about improvements to our retail areas, and meet many of the new employees and volunteer leaders who model "Patients Are First" in their daily work at the medical center.
Volunteer Voice, April 2013
In our spring issue, we celebrate our UWMC volunteers in honor of National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 22-26. Thanks to all our great volunteers for all the work you do every day to help make UWMC a friendlier place for our patients and families!
